It's not dead, just pining for the fjords (or perhaps listening to Black Sabbath).

Maybe we'll get moving again when the new season begins in earnest (or is that July?)
I reckon the two big sites, The Bounce and Hibs.net are much more in the doldrums at this time of year than is usually the case. In fact a few people seem to be of the opinion that The Bounce is in something of a terminal decline generally. I doubt it though it has been a lot poorer of late than in previous times.

I blame that Facebook malarkey.
Interesting factoid: There has never been a Scottish League player in the squad of a World Cup Finalist (concurrently that is). Celtic may try and claim the Netherlands' Edson Braffheid as the first, but technically he was on loan from Bayern Munchen and the loan was to the end of the 09-10 season, and will in any case have expired on 1 July with the re-opening of the transfer window.
The nearest thing was the four English players (Woods, Butcher, Stevens and Steven) at Rangers who came within a crossbar's width of the 1990 final.
Another factoid: Wesley Sneijder could end this season with winners medals for the Scudetto, the Coppa Italia, the Champions League and the World Cup. Beat that.

I'd love to see the Dutch finally take home a World Cup on Sunday. Nothing at all against Spain who are a fine attacking and entertaining team but I felt that in their 1974 and 1978 teams, the Netherlands had two of the finest football teams with some of the greatest individuals I have ever seen. It was kind of criminal that they won nothing during that period.
Have to say that if I was a betting man I might be just edging towards Spain though - in spite of the long unbreaten run by the Dutch.

You're just betting on Spain because the German octopus picked them.

I've just got back from my dutch holiday. Watching the game on TV, in the gloomy aftermath one shaft of comedy light was provided by an email to a group of talking heads asking their opinion on why van Bronckhorst was replaced by Braffheid. They all spontaneously laughed, followed by repeated viewings of Celtic's loan star clearing the ball with the back of his head.
