Not too optimistic on this one I'm afraid. I'd be extremely happy with a point from Ibrox. Anyone think we're in with a shout on this one? I see Walter is starting with the sub-Ferguson pish: Hibernian are title contenders, says Rangers boss Smithnews.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/h/hibernian/8513102.stmOne game at a time lads.

Not entirely confident either at this end. Still, hope springs eternal!

To be honest, I think we will win.

To be honest, I think we will win. Having watched the highlights I think we were unlucky not to get something from the match. Had a couple of chances first half including a header off the line and could have gone in leading at the break. Huns first goal was poorly defended although well finished but the "penalty" killed the game. From the camera angle behind the goal it was never a penalty as Bamba didn't touch Miller - though he didn't have to give the ref the option as the ball was going through to Smith anyway

We were caught out for their first, Murray in particular was a bit slow to react. Their pen was soft but Sol did make it easy for the ref to give it. The third was a a tad unlucky in that it came from McBride's slip/injury. Overall, Rangers were better and deserved their win. With a tad bit more luck though we could have taken something from the game, which again, we would have deserved. The first half in particular was a good showing from Hibs. Arguably, we were the better side - just. We could also be aggrieved at the quite ridiculous caution given to Boyd. It was a deliberate assault and would have seen him in court anywhere but on the football pitch. All in, I think the negatives are easily worked on, and there were enough positives to take from the game and move on. Onwards and upwards - I still think we will finish second.

Pretty fair summary - not often we come away from a defeat at Ibrox still feeling positive C'mon you Hibees - all for Goals and Glory now

Similarly, not at all downhearted by that scoreline. Result like that though are precisely why I refuse to go overboard on our prospects over the coming few months.
When i hear people say how poor the Old Firm are (and relatively, by their standards they are) I want to point out that we are still a few points shy of even a 'shite' Celtic.
If that sounds pessimistic it's not at all meant to. I'm hugely happy with the progress that Hibs are making on the pitch and off it. Within reason, whatever happens now this term will already go down as a season of progress. Not on this board, but some of the crazy mood swing stuff after a Hibee win or defeat is beginning to beggar belief. One swallow never did make a summer and one league win or defeat changes nothing much at this stage.

Lucky the linesman was in a better position than the Ref to spot the obstruction on Zoomer posted by the Doc on the Bounce
